AECM Student Showcase
The first annual Agricultural Education, Communication & Marketing (AECM) Student Showcase was held on December 6th, 2019. The event featured demonstrations from students in Foundations of Agricultural Education. It also showcased experiential learning such as job shadowing done by students in the classes Career Exploration & Early Field Experience in AECM, and Experiential Learning: Production and Business.
Photography and videography from students in Dr. Troy McKay's Digital Media Essentials and Podcasting for Science Literacy courses were also on display, as well as posters and infographics from Dr. Garrett Steede's Layout and Design course. The event was held in the new CHS Foundation Teaching & Learning Lab and Active Learning Classroom in the Learning and Environmental Sciences building on St. Paul campus.
Student Photos
Students in Digital Media Essentials, instructed by Dr. Troy McKay, have developed their photography skills this semester. Each of these photos were taken by students working to utilize skills learned over the course of the semester.

Student Produced Videos
Our program is all about hands on learning opportunities, including learning how to film and edit videos. Our students put a lot of work and time into perfecting their short films. Take a moment to watch three different examples!

New CHS Classrooms
The Learning and Environmental Sciences building is now home to two new classrooms, thanks to a generous gift from the CHS Foundation. Several AECM courses are held in these spaces, including Foundations of Agricultural Education and Digital Media Essentials.
Both faculty and students are excited to have classroom spaces that were designed and built specifically for active learning. The classrooms encourage collaborative group work and sharing with the class. Without the support of CHS, these state-of-the-art, technology-packed rooms would not have been possible.
