pHILOSOPHY STATEMENTS
This fall, students in AECM 1001: Introduction to Agricultural Education, Communication & Marketing, taught by Dr. Laura Rice, created professional philosophy statements.
This project was designed to help students identify, define and achieve their personal and professional aspirations, by compiling images, power words and quotes that inspire them and visually represent the life they imagine.
Professional philosophies develop over time so drafting the philosophy now will allow students to revisit this document often as ideas and views change.

SPIRIT AWARD
One of the highlights from this year’s AECM Student Showcase was Joe Ramstad’s recognition as our program’s 2023 Spirit Award recipient! This award was started in 2014 to recognize individuals who have significantly impacted the success of the AECM program.
Joe Ramstad, 2023 Recipient Joe Ramstad grew up in Forest Lake without any farm or direct agricultural experiences, but took his first agricultural education course as a freshman and was instantly hooked! His experiences in high school inspired him to become an agricultural education teacher. He earned undergraduate degrees in Agricultural Education and Agricultural Communication & Marketing from the University of Minnesota—Twin Cities. Since he graduated in 2019, he has been teaching ag ed to students in grades 5 through 12, engaging them in a variety of courses ranging from advanced welding to veterinary science and is currently an agricultural education teacher at Rockford Area Schools. Congratulations, Joe! |
